Norcross, GA - 4/22/2007 - Weekend Sweep – Norcross pitched their way to a 9-5 victory over Collins Hill Sunday afternoon. Three Blue Devils were on the 2005 Pee Wee State Tournament team that was beat 4-3 by Collins Hill and four Blue Devils were beaten this past July by a score of 3-2. Seven players from the 2006 Collins Hill team remain on this team. Mike Olson earned player of the game honors collecting 3 hits and 4 RBI's. Co-player of the game honors went to Jacob Gassert with his two hits and two RBI's.

For the second game in as many nights, the Norcross pitchers had their way with the opposing hitters. Winning pitcher Michael Bauer threw the first three innings and Andrew Thunhorst continued his mastery over Collins Hill to record the save. Sunday's victory moved Norcross ahead of Collins Hill in the standings and moved them to within one half game out of first place in the 9U GGBL Standings.

The two games this weekend were the front end of a stretch of ten games over the next 14 days. Norcross plays at home next Friday 6pm where they will try to avenge a tough loss at North Gwinnett a month ago. Friday's game is the front end of a Norcross Minor Field Doubleheader as the Norcross 10U Blue Devils take on the Mill Creek Hawks at 8pm.
