Norcross, GA - 5/6/2007 - Mill Creek Edges Norcross 7 – 6 - In their second meeting of the season, the highly touted Mill Creek Hawks managed to edge the Norcross Blue Devils by one run in a tight game that was undecided until the final at bat.

Looking for revenge after the earlier 16 - 5 pounding by the Blue Devils at their home park, the defending Dixie Youth Pee Wee state champion handed the GGBL league leading Blue Devils their first home loss of the season. While Norcross batters hit the ball hard and consistently, again and again the Hawk players seemed to be in position to catch and make the out.

Norcross defenders played tough as well. In a 3rd inning defensive highlight, Drew Aspinwall took a throw from first and completed the second out of an inning ending double play. With an aggressive and persistent tag on the Hawk base runner, Drew caught the Hawk player in a well executed run down at third base.

Speaking after the game, Norcross manager Scott Walch was upbeat telling the team that today’s game was a necessary learning experience. Reminding the players that even major league World Series winners like last year’s Cardinals will lose 50 or more games in a season, the Blue Devils will likely meet the Hawks again in the post season tournament.

The Blue Devils are back on the road Tuesday night traveling to Collins Hill Park for an 8 PM start against the tough 11 and 4 Eagles.
