2005 Norcross American
Pee Wee All-Stars

The Ballad of the Norcross American All-Stars

We began the All star season showing no signs of fear
Freshly uniformed, capped, and looking great.
But never it seemed in our wildest dreams
Did we think we would go to state!
Our confidence grew strong and it didn’t take long
Before we realized the American All stars were not the norm.
By the first game it was clear, we were at or very near
Top major league mid-season form.

Furry and Langston, scooping it up in the field, we began to make the out.
With clinch hits from our youngest two players, Wylie and Nelson
We were on an unmistakable route!

Of course, Cy Young honors were due Danny and Nate
For coming up with big pitches to make our victories so great!
McNulty, out on the mound was his favorite place to meet.
Only to tell the batter after strike three, “Go take your seat”!

Stops at third were in style for Harry
Touching the third base bag as the crowd was sent roarin’.
And if one skipped thru as they sometimes do,
Samniks big catches always kept ‘em from scorin’.

Golden glove honors are due to Mark and to Zack.
Most batters must have felt that they were cursed.
If hit in the infield, you would get out at first!

Coach Scott’s big saying was “Nobody Quits”
Ryno and Ian were sure to not disappoint
With all of their big homerun hits!

And then there was James who saved the day
When he came to the final game ready to play!
To make a base hit, our kids had a thirst!
And what better than Coach Roby to meet them at first!

Over on third, his arms were a flying
In these games, there would be no tying!
Just when we thought we were about to bomb,
We would all get a pep talk from spirited Coach John.

With everyday games, it hard to keep up with the bats!
So, thank you Tracey, Kevin, and Brent for keeping the stats!
And when there was a call to protest, there was Dan.
According to the Grayson folks, he was quite the man!
And how could we forget the JSPN crew!
To Jake, Ethan, Madison, and Sarah- A big Thank you!

We all needed some rest and that is true.
But what? No batting practices, snacks, or driving to do?
With all this time to finally be alone,
I realized that our American All Stars are certainly BAD TO THE BONE!
